How can I change the default selected color from Yellow

When using Quick Finder plugin it highlights the selected feature in color "Yellow".
Is there a way to change this color to something else to create more contrast with map backgrounds?
I tried setting the Selection Color under Settings-->Options-->Canvas & Legend, but it appears the plugin is not wired to this setting.
