"Table content": "Editable" does not seem to allow edits

The "Table content": "Editable", parameter in the Config file seems to imply that one could directly edit the fields that are shown in the browser rather than in the editor. I'd like to be able to do this so I can compare/edit similar NOTE fields in a "column" fashion. Does the edit apply to "NOTE" mode as well as "CARD" mode ? (To me, the NOTE is the single :"mini-database" for all cards generated, so it makes more sense to edit the NOTE not the card. )

If setting "Table content": "Editable" is supposed to allow editing in the Browser, I cannot get it to work. I can "edit" the fields, but the text returns to what was there before my edit when I press ENTER.

The config file also says "Not all" fields may be editable.
Can you expand on the limitations so that I might be able to identify a field that IS editable?
No sense in me trying to edit a field that is not permitted to be edited :)

most of the code should be from this commit: 7fba8f3

The work needed to make sure this functionality works for others probably can't be justified by the number of users of it. As far as I know since then no one worked on this feature. ... So this functionality is not really supported. I'm labelling this as "won't fix" - though maybe a(nother) maintainer sees this differently.

I regret ever merging that PR. It's like double the code for a feature .1% of users might use. Present-day me would have flatly refused it.

I wasn't asking anyone to fix it.
I just wanted to understand If it wasn't working because I was doing something wrong.

That's good enough for me. I'll stop pursuing it.

FYI...
The only place I saw a reference to the "Edit in the Table" was in the Add-On CONFIG section after installation.
You might consider taking the text for that option out in your next release so nobody, such as me, asks about it again. "Out of sight...Out of Mind:":)

You may be wondering...
Why was I interested in using it ?
I'm entering various forms of verb conjugations, each verb being its own NOTE. Each NOTE containing ALL conjugations for every MOOD and TENSE. Each NOTE is a mini-database for all forms of a single verb. Other verbs are often similar enough to cut and paste from row to row with the new verb needing only small changes. Editing multiple verbs in a column, such as shown in the browser, allows cut/paste and visual comparison, such as does a Spreadsheet, from Verb to Verb within a column.

There are other ways to achieve this, such as export the data, work it in a Spreadsheet, and re-import it. This is great for entering a lot of verbs at once, but when adding one or two new verbs, it can become time consuming and increases the chance of importing incorrectly. Even when making a backup, the time required to do this far exceeds the benefit for one/two new items.

Editing directly in the Browser Grid would be quicker and less error prone method.

However, there are always many ways to achieve the same results when using Software.

My New "Better"Solution:
What I'll do instead, for one or two verbs, is just copy/duplicate the Note (row) and then modify it within ANKI. I will be able to take advantage of Find/Replace and just change the Verb Stem, and "hand edit" the subtle differences.
It will work out better, faster, and more consistent.
