Somewhat in order of decreasing priority:

• A PostgreSQL database
• Accounts on one of the data handling nodes
  • to install the software
  • to run the database viewer software
  • to run the dataserver software
• A luster storage directory
  • A terabyte or so would be more than enough for now; we asked for 125 immediately
  • Mounted on the dh node
• DNS names pointing to that node, e.g.
  metis-db.hpc.rug.nl
  metis-dataserver.hpc.rug.nl
• Open ports for the services (not sure who)
• Create accounts
  • Track IP addresses

Message sent to ORW with proposed accounts.

Done last week:

• All user accounts are created.
• Ports opened.
• DNS requested but not yet propagated.
• Directory (35TB) mounted, but not writable.

Underway:

• Get DNS to propagate, request mailed.
• Get mounted directory writable, request mailed.
• Get dbviewer running, in progress.
• IP of dbviewer should have access to database, request mailed.

To do:

• Get data-server up and running.
• Create accounts.
