Sorry for the late reply! I find your ideas really interesting—especially the tiered smelting system. They all have great potential to add depth and complexity to GenesisBook. That said, I’m currently swamped with work and can’t dive into development right now. I’ll convert this issue into a discussion so the community can weigh in and collaborate. If you’re up for it, feel free to submit code or a PR—would love to see your concepts come to life! 😊 |

Hi,
I have a couple of ideas that could be worked out to enrich/complex GenesisBook, if that is what your are looking for. Please reach out if you want to work with me on the details on this. 🙂 I was told from the discord to create issue here.
Tiers of smelting
Instead of just putting multiplier to smelter speed, you increase their speed and efficiency by adding complexity. You could make several different acids available at yellow science, and production skippable once you hit interstellar and find oceans. I have some ideas for more complex recipes for Nitric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Hydrochloric acid.
First tier is simple smelting, as done in vanilla.
Second tier: acid smelting, uses acids to smelt metals. Highly increases the efficiency of the process (such that factory becomes smaller with acidic smelting). You can add "acid waste water recycling" to increase byproduct handling necessary. (I.e. you get the ingredients back from making the acid if you recycle the waste water).
Third tier: catalyst smelting, you prepare a catalyst, which gets consumed and catalyst matrix needs to be renewed (i.e. a logistic loop).
Ideally, the metals of subsequent science packs need the higher tier smelting recipes, and all tiers remain necessary for endgame science production.
Comet Uniques
GalacticScale code. Green science is not just a bump, but you need to harvest the metals needed for green science from unhospitable comets, those unique resources only spawn on the comets. Those have a randomized selection of rares, very tiny, little solar, no wind.
Particle Physics White Science
Instead of ordinary antimatter from the critical photon the photon recipe in a collider becomes:
100 critical photon --> 75 hydrogen, 20 deuterium, 4 tritium, 1 helium + 75 antihydrogen, 20 antideuterium, 4 antitrium, 1 antihelium
A complex combination of fractionator/collider recipes (can we do fractionators with multiple outputs?) can turn these other useless antimatter into antihelium, which actually goes into the science pack.
Fuel Rod Re-evaluation
Reduce the amount of fuel rods in GenesisBook to 4 tiers (as in vanilla)
Tier one: hydrogen rod --> empty rod
Tier two: nuclear fission rod with plutonium --> uranium ore + 2 hydrogen + empty rod
Tier three: fusion rod filled with helium --> coal (He --> C process in some stars) + empty rod
Tier four: no antimatter rod, just strange rod
Expensive Genesis Book
Simple: Id like a science multiplier (up to 100x) to increase scale at low tech. In a more complex implementation one looks at where specific unlocks are that make things easier (special/rare recipes, mecha/vessel warp, warper recipe) and push them further up the tree).
