background process, not browser window loading

in order to work efficient, i need to also let a script run on the server without me having to have the browser window open, let it run in the background on the server the php script and with a command or button we can terminate the action, so we are not dependent on an active internet connection at the user side

@mikulabc do we want to have the script run as cron? execute the script in a specific schedule?

@vincentjasonsy we only need the cron if the php script does not execute/run by itself in the background, right?
