wondering if you could make a build for devs to be able to create / move around nodes, assign different ids to nodes, create/delete etc.. and save to a csv file for json export

this would make our life 10000 times easier.

Thanks for the improvement idea. It sounds interesting and I'll look into this right away, but it might take a while to become available.

If you can provide a full list of features you would like to see, I'll try to implement as many as possible. 👍

basically would be a talent tree creator gui so instead of making a talent tree in a software like trio office and looking like a confusing mess and having to zoom in like +500%, it will be graphical interface with actual nodes/images etc (just like the current layout you have at the moment but with editing features) features: add / remove nodes including (is_start) for creation new classes etc. edit id of nodes (since there located in mmorpg_perks) node placement can't think of anything else but you get the idea

Thanks for waiting. I have added the editor features at https://cofeiini.github.io/cte2-planner/editor.html (there's also a wrench icon in the lower right corner of the Planner).

It was a bit bigger struggle to get the pathfinding to work in certain edge cases, but now the editor will allow exporting the talent tree and the ascendancy trees.

You can right click on an empty cell to add a new node, which opens a list of all available nodes from the mmorpg_perks, which includes some that have no icons or proper stats.

Right clicking on a node allows you to move, change, remove, connect, and disconnect:

• Moving nodes shows an indicator of the new position for the node. I didn't make it compatible with dragging, so left clicking will cause it to be placed down in the clicked spot
• Changing nodes is similar to adding nodes where you pick a new id from the list
• Removing nodes simply deletes the node from the tree
• Connecting nodes highlights the current node and allows you to left click on any other node to make a connection between them
• Disconnecting nodes highlights the connected nodes that are available and clicking one of them will do the disconnecting

In most cases left clicking on an empty cell should cancel the operation, but I tried to make sure that right clicking works as a more reliable way to cancel.

There's also import function that allows you to use custom CSV files (or the ones generated by this editor). I had to separate the main tree and ascendancy trees due to the format being the same, so you need to be slightly more careful with which files you load.

I tried testing the editor, but I recommend still verifying the exported files. I didn't test this with the game, but based on the source code it should be fine.

I still need to think of a way to customize things like is_start, since the data is pulled from the JSON files and I'm essentially hardcoding them at the moment.
