What does trig do? i though it might be something where you could place a trigger and the path would have to go through that then to the finish but apperantly thats not what it is. what is it?

the trig parameter basically affects the shape at which the search occurs. You might notice that if trig is enabled then the algorithm searches starting from the start node and searches in a triangular form towards the end node.

It always stays in the triangular shape like this:

so reaching towards the end the path searched would look like a rectangle so it basically checks every square between the start and end nodes which is less efficient. however when both trig and diagonal are enabled, its not really noticeable.
