Text messaging assumes number are in the US

I live in belgium but my locale/language is set to en_US (For additional android features), and numbers that don't start with the country code (+32 here) are automatically transformed into +1 numbers

Would it be possible to have a country code override or just a setting to disable this altogether?

Have you tried using the setting to use your sim-card's country code (Settings -> General)?

However, when adding a number, beginning it with 0 (For example, 04xxxxxxxxx) it doesn't strip the 0 from the number (Which means calling +3204xxxxxxx, instead of +324xxxxxxx)
