Attempt to load evdi throws "Invalid argument"

I tried to install evdi on a new machine. I installed the displaylink rpm. When running modprobe, I got the following:

$ sudo /usr/sbin/modprobe evdi 
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'evdi': Invalid argument

The OS logs just report that I ran this command.

Can someone provide help how to investigate further ?

Hi, the best approach would be to try installing it from our sources. Open this link and navigate down to "Latest Official Driver" section and download the installer. The displaylink rpm package is a community maintained package and we cannot guarantee it's integrity.

Thank you for the comment. This link offers the sources for Ubuntu .... but I am running Fedora. Would you recommend to use the sources for Ubuntu ?

Yes, the installer usually works under Fedora and we try keeping it working. Let me know if it fails, we'll have to update that part.

Yep ... the module did load fine :-)
I'll see next week how it works, when I'll be back in the office.
