MATLAB and fncs error on initialize

I've gotten this error twice in when trying to run fncs_initialize in MATLAB. I'm unfortunately not able to replicate it.

The first line of the error seems to suggest it is a ZMQ issue (?). Is it possible to add a check in fncs to raise a MATLAB error instead of exiting MATLAB altogether?

MATLAB is exiting because of fatal error

I have seen this happen once before. I had a matlab GUI open where I had
used the interactive prompt to fncs_initialize() and fncs_finalize(). That
worked fine as expected. But when I tried to use the same matlab GUI
instance to do another co-sim run, it crashed during the next
fncs_initialize() with a similar error. Is this what you experienced?
