Randomly deleted all files on my chromebook

I went to open the application to find that all files I had were gone. I checked everywhere they might have been saved but to my dismay there was nothing. Is there any way to recover them?

. what makes you believe this app is deleting everything?
if all my files were gone,
I would assume my account was hacked.
. were the missing files stored locally
or on gdrive?
