Garbage Collector

The language needs to have a garbage collector, which would improve the languages merit. Libgc may be an option, however, I still do not know how to integrate that into the program.

Does it need a garbage collector? Rust doesn't have one. You could implement borrowing?

I definitely considered this but then again, I want the language to be very simple and developer friendly. This could be interpreted two ways. First, it could be thought of friendly for refactoring for efficiency, which comes from a borrow checker, while the second interpretation is friendly for coding without having to worry about memory management or lifetimes.

I still don't have a particular leaning either way, since both would be a great learning experience.

That's a great point. It's what makes languages like Python so accessible. The low barrier of entry of not having to worry about garbage collection or memory management certainly helps with adoption.

So you rightly call out, what off-the-shelf solutions can get you closest to this, like libgc. But yeah, getting that working is going to be challenging!
