JCheckBoxMenuItem with icon doesn't show check mark on Windows

If I create a JCheckBoxMenuItem with text only, it works as expected on Windows. After I click on the item, a check mark will appear. However, if I create the menu item with icon, the check mark won't show after click.

It works fine on Mac. A display issue with Mac is that JCheckBoxMenuItem without icon won't align with other menu items that have icons.

If a JCheckBoxMenuItem or a JRadioButtonMenuItem has a icon, then FlatLaf does not paint a check mark.
Instead a different background is used.
Screenshot shows 3 selected items, 1st does not have an icon:

This can be problematic with larger icons (as 3rd row in screenshot).
ATM I would recommend not to use icons on JCheckBoxMenuItem or JRadioButtonMenuItem.
