Hello all,
As followers of the project are aware and I'm sure many can determine on their own as well by looking at update dates, that development has been hit or miss over the last several years as I go through grad school and raise children, and thus leading to a choppy release of updates and slow to address issues as the rest of the computing world continues on.
Well, this year I'm expecting that to change! I'm starting my very last graduate class which will once again be very demanding but after that I'm done! My kids are quickly becoming less dependent and after some winding down from school I'll be able to get back to more regular development later this year!
The plan I have is to finish up features and fixes and roll out version 1.0 of WiinUPro which will still be compatible all the way back to Windows XP for whoever has those retro needs. This includes adding gyroscope support, which to keep things in scope will be targeted similarly to gyro aiming, where you could use it like a mouse pointer or joystick. Afterwards it'll be continuing on with the successor which will aim to modernize, modularize and expand the capabilities that WiinUPro and WiinUSoft offered with the hopes of rivaling Steam input in terms of features, convenience and simplicity. At least that's the idea!
