It would be really great if the waypoints in an autopilot program were visible on the map/HUD, with labels. I sometimes have trouble finding my way to the first waypoint in a landing sequence, for example, or find myself coming in from an oblique angle and am uncertain which waypoint I should activate in order to catch the descent program in an intelligent fashion.
Even more great would be to show the flight paths as a series of boxes in the sky. It would be fun to load up a descent path and fly it manually for as long as possible! It would also solve the problem of “where is the landing pattern in relation to me, and where should I head to intercept it as quickly as possible?” Which is a good thing to know when you’re very low on fuel…
