How to add non-jumpable restoreNode?

for example, I have:

c(1, {
  sn(nil, fmt([[{} \\]], { r(1, "a_first") })),
  sn(nil, fmt([[{} & {} \\]], { r(1, "a_first"), i(2) })),
})

but I don't want to edit "a_first" after I changed the option,

I want something like this:

c(1, {
  i(nil, "", {key = "a_first"}),
  sn(nil, fmt([[{} & {} \\]], { rep(k("a_first")), i(1) })),
})

But as I understand it, rep can't be used like that, and restoreNode must be jumpable.
So, what are my options?

Huh your second sample code works for me, did you actually try it?
Or what does it do that you want to have differently?

It doesn't work for me just like that sample with your function, the function returns an empty string, weird...
What version are you using?

Indeed the key indexer only works for nodes in the same node hierarchy, choice branches doesn't seem to work here.

I guess we'll need hints from @L3MON4D3 for this one 👀
