Help needed in configuring this k8s Cluster

Hi @Langleu , we are trying to host the camunda in kubernetes cluster, we followed camunda cloud example, since very new to this, I am stuck at session management , so for session management in the cluster is it enough to add the jars and opts to the image and have redis running , so when accessed through load balancer service of k8s it should work.

Is my understanding correct, Is there any yaml files for this session management in k8s cluster? It would be very helpful

Hey @Premfer, got a lot to do currently but will try to get back to you next week!
Pretty much yes, dropping the jars in there + config change is sufficient, could be achieved by e.g. running an init container or mount it to the container and run a script as an entrypoint for the cambpm container.

I'll try to find our old setup next week as we were running it for a university cluster, beware not production ready.
Alternatively, have a look at https://camunda.com/de/products/cloud/ , which might be a better fit.

Hi @Langleu Thanks for your reply, Yes we considered Zeebe and decided to continue in camunda for existing ones and use cloud for future cases.

Please share the old setup when you can , that would be very helpful in hosting in k8s.

Hey @Premfer, I'm sorry to disappoint you but sadly I didn't find much that could be of help to you.

What I remember from back then is that we were using GCP in general and used Memorystore for redis and exposed it with twemproxy to the cluster.
We had a configmap with multiple files and mounted it into the cambpm pod.
E.g. settings and start script. The start script copied the files to the destinations (server.xml, prometheus config), replaced db user and password with sed, and in the end started bin/catalina.sh run.

I also remember we had an extra cambpm image back then with additions added to it but can't recall what those changes were.

Sorry, that I can't be more of help. I'm not sure whether the setup would even work nowadays with 7.16 😅 , ran 7.10 back then.
