My name is Raphael Araujo, and I am a web developer with over 15 years of experience. I am reaching out to share an idea for an additional gamification feature for Duolingo, which I believe could enhance user interaction and engagement on the platform.
Idea Overview: The concept involves a global group-based feature, “Don’t Sleep on It,” where users can interact with friends in a playful way, such as “waking up” friends or collecting diamonds, which encourages users to stay active and connected. The goal is to increase notifications, promote engagement, and drive regular use of the app. Each cycle would reset weekly, encouraging ongoing participation. In this setup, each user would only see interactions from people they know, making the experience both personal and fun.
Why I’d Love to Contribute: I am very passionate about Duolingo’s mission to make language learning accessible and engaging, and I would be thrilled to contribute to a feature that could bring joy and motivation to millions of users worldwide.
