does it support charging? or just monitoring?

Hi,
what is the functions of the BMS? so called "Battery Management Systems" are in fact "Battery Protections System" : over current/short circuit, reverse polarity, overcharge, undercharge, over temperature protections and some "monitoring" (how much go in and out, saving charge information) but for me they don't MANAGE the battery, eg they don't handle the charge which is the most important part....
