[Problem/Bug]: WebView2 Screen Capture missing

What happened?

after the last update 138.0.3351.83 the screen capturing option disappeared from the menu. I use webview2 in a delphi application and SHIFT+CTRL+S doesn't work either.

Important. My app's user experience is significantly compromised.

Repro steps

There was no change in my application. On 12.7.2025, the update was automatically installed and after right-clicking, a menu appears without the screen capturing option.

In the Edge browser, the menu is still active

I can confirm this bug, the screen capture function no longer works, even using the shortcut does not implement this function that worked in previous instances of WebView2!!

This function no longer works in the WIN32 release of the WebView2 runtime.

This function does work in the latest Microsoft Edge web browser but NOT in the latest WebView2 runtime instance!

Please fix this error... 😣

Yes, I have the same issue:

• Webview2 Runtime Version: 138.0.3351.83
• Webview2 SDK Build: 3296.44

I don't know when it was last working.

@PCRacer @jhianik @ajtruckle We have removed the context menu item to take screen capture since this feature was globally enabled in webview, and potentially allowed users to take screenshot of protected content. ScreenShot/WebCapture was disabled by edge for protected content.
This functionality as per the documentation was disabled https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/concepts/browser-features#additional-keyboard-shortcuts-information, but the context menu item was not removed.

@ajtruckle I do get the concern, but this is to align with the documentation and comply with protected content. Feel free to raise a feature request to as to enable this scenario while complying with protected content.
