Think about using an intermediary level for the UG API which is supposed to

• be more stable in terms of developmental changes
• hide UG API functionality that is not explicitly needed in the NeuroBox (and only makes it hard to find the essential class methods in an object's representation's drop-down menu)

You could implement VFilter interface for your ComponentFilter in VRL, which could be applied within the NeuroBox configurator as dicussed previously.

The VRL-UG-API-NeuroBox (or whatever we call it) plugin configurator would perhaps be a more suitable choice (depending on what we are going to filter, of course).
