Diabling entirely on Mac of Outlook addin developed with Office.js

Dear Comminity,

I want to develope my Outlook addin only for Windows Desktop and Web and want to disable it entirely on Mac.

Please advice me how to setup this requirement in Outlook manifest.

Solution 1:

There is currently no way to limit the manifest.xml of an Outlook add-in to specific platforms. However, you can check for the platform within your add-in and provide an appropriate message to the user in the add-in frame. You can use the combination of Office.context.mailbox.diagnostics.hostName and Office.context.mailbox.diagnostics.hostVersion to detect that the add-in is running in Outlook Mac.

Solution 2:

There is no way of targeting a specific platform with the manifest. What you can do is to show an error in those platforms where your add-in is not supported. You can use office.context.diagnostics.platform to find out what platform you are on and then potentially provide a page with information on the platforms you don't support.
