Q: Which parts of the registry are scanned when Open-Shell starts?

Every so often, I get a "please wait" message when clicking on the start menu button. I don't remember the exact text but it has something to do with Open-Shell collecting menu information.

I THINK some of my junk removal routines are a little too aggressive and are wiping out stuff which Open-Shell uses.

Would someone please tell me the keys which are modified by this menu data collection? I'd like to blacklist them from the cleaning routines.

I guess it is Please wait for the Start menu to finish the initial collection of information.
It is displayed when CItemManager::PreloadItemsThread doesn't finish in 1 second.

It seems to be going through folders defined in g_CacheFolders.

That seems plausible. There are 2,700 items in the start menu folder. Is there a way to change that time limit?

I DID notice that preventing Open-Shell's start menu from launching until CPU use a very low prevents this issue.
