It would be very useful to have a terminal option in the Web UI that allows sending G-code commands and macros directly to the printer, including static commands that can be executed before or after a print.

This is sort of available already, if you know what codes you want to send.

Write your G-code snippet and save it to the printer. Then you can select it from the file list, either using the web interface, or the touchscreen, and press print.

I did this a lot when I was testing the LED mod. For example:

LED_ON.gcode SET_LED_led1 RED=1 GREEN=1 BLUE=1 WHITE=1 TRANSMIT=1

LED_OFF.gcode SET_LED_led1 RED=0 GREEN=0 BLUE=0 WHITE=0 TRANSMIT=1

Just write them in Notepad or another text editor, change the extension to .gcode, and load them onto the printer.

Yes, saving static G-code commands into a .gcode file works as a workaround, but it’s inconvenient and not nearly as practical as having a terminal to send commands directly.
