Java Straw is pretty mature and allows direct reading of the .hic file with a fairly straightforward API. It is far more efficient than dumping the data and then reading it into SIP. Happy to arrange a meeting to explain the API and facilitate this enhancement. Dump is actually being deprecated in favor of straw, so this is ideally a change which should be made sooner rather than later. Furthermore, straw can read the latest version 9 of the .hic file format, and overall should improve usability of SIP.
