How long does this freeze last? For me, I get a very short freeze, more like an extreme stutter, about that long into a flight. (The recipe for me is route KEIK -> KSTK @ 7500, C172, ZL 12/17/18. The stutter happens immediately after the plane clears the DEN Class B outer ring.) It is very repeatable. In my case, I think it is happening because the plane has flown far along enough for XP to start loading new data. I see messages in the log that new DSF files are opened. This would naturally be followed by a lot of DDS reads, which of course AO is intercepting and trying to come up with the data. There are often a few DSF opens in a short period of time, which translates to a lot of DDS reads in a short time. And that causes the stutter. The stutter isn't solved by already having the JPEG files in the cache. And I wasn't able to help it by increasing some of the settings such as memory cache sizes, look ahead distance, etc. I've tried to catch a DEBUG log when this happens, but the DEBUG log only catches a couple of seconds. |

Please disregard all. AO 1.6.3 works fine now. |

Additional context
I'm trying to get an idea of what is the most universally used map provider, because I have been having ortho problems with AO for a little while now. Bing and Apple both load slowly, then after flying for about 30 minutes, causes X-Plane to freeze completely until AO throws a new bone at the sim (satellite imagery).
Here are my AO settings:
