Google suddenly looks amazing

Lately I've noticed google looks excellent everywhere I check, and I've tested it all over the world. Gone are the weird colors and mismatched tiles. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this and what has changed. I seriously doubt Google released new imagery all over the world, so I'm wondering if PD did some kind of color correction with Google. I'm definitely very happy with this development, but I would like to know the cause of the improvement. If it has something to do with seasons being enabled I'd like to know so I can keep these exact settings going forward. I keep pretty much everything default in my AO settings.
