AO 2.3.0 crashes mid-flight

AO 2.3.0 silently exits mid-flight. Reproduced 3 times today. One of the times was after switching the map provider from APPLE to BI.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Start AO
2. Start flight
3. Eventually, AO shuts down

Expected behavior
AO should continue working on the background

I've restarted AO, didn't fetch flight data from SimBrief, and disabled the 'Enable predictive DDS building' checkbox. AO kept working.

I made some discoveries, rc-3 is an experimental version to see if they are the cuplrit.

Yes, this was introduced with the predictive DDS enhancements in 2.3.0. It is (likely) the same issue that I was analyzing in #383, which got conflated into two unrelated issues.

Your fix in 2848d17 (rc-3) looks extremely promising as it directly addresses the problem I found. I didn't even dream that TER files would use the ZL notation. But that makes sense to me now since the old regex pattern was obviously dealing with it and I didn't know why.

I'll test rc-3 now, but I suspect it will fix it. I'll report back.

Sadly, it still crashes for me. :-(

The first time, AO crashed and took XP down with it. I ran it again to get clean logs and AO took longer, about 5 mins of flying before it crashed, but XP stayed up drawing gray areas instead of textures.

It is pretty easy to reproduce. Fly a C172 from KOFP to KCHO at 2000 MSL.

Nice work! Those are hard to find. I've confirmed it no longer crashes for my test case.

I still get the stutters in that use case at about the 500 second mark. I have the build interval set to 250ms, so I'll try lower at some point and maybe figure out how filled out the DDS cache is along the route. The stutters happen when XP loads a bunch of new DSF files in a short amount of time and so the stutters may have more to do with that than the lack of preloaded DDS files.
