I dont know if I am not getting the config right but setting it to true or false does not change the r ouptut, do I have to use colourout package with it for it to work or does it work alone? |

It seems to be correct in https://github.com/samtrek/configs/blob/master/nvim/lua/plugins/r-nvim.lua |

Colorout is not required to highlight Neovim's built-in terminal, but now I noted that you are running R in an external terminal, which cannot be highlighted by Neovim. Hence, you need colorout to colorize the output in Kitty. |

Seems I mixed somethings up What I actually wanted is for the output in the r term or radian to follow the nvim color scheme when a command is sent, seems only colourout can be used to achieve this or are there any other means? |

I'm aware only of colorout. You can create your own color scheme for colorout matching your Neovim colorscheme. See: jalvesaq/colorout#27 |
