Description
I've been using RocketChat for over 4 years, as a standalone installation on Ubuntu. When I first deployed it the documentation described using rocketchatctl as a correct way to upgrade. The development of this script has been quietly dropped and only now do I realize that since 2023 there has been no development on it at all.
This means that all this time that I was doing "rocketchatctl upgrade-rocketchatctl" it actually was just re-downloading the very same stale version of the script.
As the script gets more out of date, there's a rising risk that it will cause errors on someones instance.
What happens:
Running rocketchatctl upgrade-rocketchatctl causes the script to silently download itself again, even though there are no new versions and rocketchatctl is deprecated.
Running rocketchatctl update does perform an update, even though it is deprecated.
Expected behavior:
rocketchatctl should notify the user that it it deprecated and will no longer be updated and other means of updating should be used.
