Load order keeps getting scrambled when I add a mod

I have a large mod list and enjoy adding new mods, but whenever I do, the launcher randomly changes my load order and instead of adding the new mod to the bottom, it often places it somewhere in the middle.

I think this is intended, load order should normally not be messed with.
Pretty sure the mods are added alphabetically, and mod authors usually add a bunch of exclamation marks to the filename in order to get priority.
