SPE 6.4 Release Test Plan

Yay! SPE 6.4 is almost complete. Time to get testing.

Package Installation

• All packages are created and uploaded to GitHub with SHA256 hash
• Packages install without error or missing items/files
• Release notes in package contain accurate information
• Version files are all correct

Content Editor

• Kitchen sink dialog works properly
• Rebuild integration points runs without error
• Ribbon buttons appear
• Insert Options appear
• Gutter icons appear
  • Gutters with click behavior work as expect (e.g. Elevated Unlock)
• Report menus appear
  • Every report runs without error
  • PowerShell Reports visible for sitecore\Sitecore Client Authoring role
• Scripts context menu appear
  • Download media to zip works as expected
• Toolbox menus appear
  • Every tool runs without error
• Training toolbox entry disabled by default
  • Training samples work
• Delegated access rule works for visibility of integrations
  • Root, library, and script level
• Delegated access impersonation works
  • Elevated Unlock
• Scripted datasource work

Console

• Commands run without error
• Syntax highlighting works

ISE

• Ribbon buttons work as expected

Remoting

• Web API works for master and web
• SPE Remoting works with password and shared secret

PowerShell Admin Page

• Works when the "enabled" file exists and through "SITECORE_SPE_ADMIN_PAGE_ENABLED"

Logging

• SPE logs do not show any unusual or unexpected errors.

Documentation

• Packages contain the latest version of PowerShell xml docs
• Book updated to reflect new or updated features/behaviors
• Appendix updated with new version
