Migrating from Loopbook ORM to GraphQL

I am in the process of migrating from Loopback to GraphQL. The migration should be complete in Q1 2021. Some of the main reasons for this decision:

1. Loopback doesn't support queries on nested objects for all supported databases
2. Due to Create CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md #1, the major benefits of supporting multiple databases is negated
3. MongoDb via Mongoose will be used for the data layer. This will allow the data layer to be performant by utilizing the built in features of Mongo as opposed to doing data operations such as filtering in the business layer.
4. The GraphQL API will be simpler and have less of a learning curve as compared to the prior REST based approached.
5. GraphQL allows the client to specify the view model returned, thus making it more flexible and reducing the need to create multiple endpoints when only a difference in the returned model is the variance.
6. GraphQL is trending and quickly becoming a suitable replacement for REST in many scenarios.
7. GraphQL is arguably a better choice for most javascript based front-ends(Angular, React, Vue, etc) as it provides more power to the calling client.
