mongoDB takes time to respond

I dont know if this is a general problem, this mongodb seems to be the best option for my application but it takes too much time to respond compared to steemjs and other methods

Is there a way to make it respond faster?

MongoDB is fast, if you spend some time learning about underlying indexes and optimize your queries.

@Netherdrake, I am having some problems trying to get a list of followers for a given account using SteemData from the AccountOperations collection. Apparently, I have to search through the json field list for all follow operations to find "following" for the target user, however this is highly inefficient and I can never get it to complete. Is there a better way to do this that actually works? Thanks.

I'm planning to re-add follow support to Accounts in the near future. For now, you can get a list of followers from steemd with follow_plugin enabled.

Your query is slow, because it is querying the entire dataset without usage of indexes.

You can speed it up by replacing json_metadata.timestamp with created, and replacing json_metadata.type with json_metadata.app
