Subscribe form breaks when placed in grid shortcode

When I place an embedded mailchimp subscribe form within the shortcode for a bootstrap column, the form appears but the submit action does not work.

This is true whether I embed the form directly from mailchimp, or if I use a plugin that creates a shortcode for the form.

Both methods work fine on the page when outside of the shortcode, so there must be some conflict going on.

It would be great if you could solve this as the plugin is very useful otherwise.
