Environment
Mod Loader: Forge 43.5.1
Game Version: 1.19.2 Java
IC2C Version: 1.19.2-2.1.2.1
Mod Interactions: Will be specifically noted.
Preface
This issue compiles necessary to report / critical bugs discovered by myself during gameplay and within several server QQ groups (yes, I'm a Chinese player... please pardon any grammatical issues). While I'm not a professional programmer, I understand that some issues may stem from the environment, other mods, or even the base game itself, rather than IC2C alone. The causes of bugs can be complex, depending on the environment, the core mod, interacting mods, or inexplicable base game problems. Therefore, the feasibility of fixes is up to you professionals.
For specific bugs, I will list them in order based on their impact and the strength of evidence.
- Pipe Reversal on Chunk Reload or Player Teleportation (Specifically Item Pipes, Filter Extraction Pipes, Supply Pipes)
Description:
When a chunk is reloaded (pipes not on chunk borders) or updated (e.g., due to player teleportation, even using IC2C's own Teleporter, not commands), Filter Extraction Pipes and Item Pipes automatically reverse direction and do not revert.
Under the same conditions (chunk reload/update), Supply Pipes (and possibly Request Pipes) can cause components inside a reactor to flow backwards.
Explanation:
This is a seemingly minor but highly hazardous bug with very strong evidence. Almost every player in our groups who uses advanced logistics encounters this. It is severe enough to cause EU Nuclear Reactor components and fuel rods to reverse flow (possibly due to update order vs. pipe logic—this part mainly affects Supply Pipes) and to cause extraction failures for LZH Coolant Cells in forced-cooled EU reactors, leading to meltdowns. Consequently, many IC2C players, while appreciating IC2C as a balanced tech mod with great creative and automation content, still maintain a sense of "awe" (i.e., caution) towards it.
Temporary Workaround:
After identifying the root cause, I found a workaround: using IC2C's own Chunk Loader to keep the chunk force-loaded prevents pipe reversal, even after teleportation.
This issue significantly affects various automated setups and has made me prefer the Supply/Request Pipe combination more.
- Critical Server/World Crash Bug with Teleporter Fluid Transfer
Description:
Two Teleporters, each with a Machine Tank (or fluid container) on top. When the transfer volume from one side exceeds the available inventory space on the receiving side, it can cause an overflow leading to world save or server crash.
Example:
Tank A capacity: 10 buckets. Tank B capacity: 10 buckets.
Tank A contains 6 buckets, Tank B contains 5 buckets.
Teleporter attempts to transfer fluid from A to B, causing overflow and crash.
- Suspected Item Loss / "Deletion" Bug with Teleporter Overflow
Description:
Similar to Bug #2, but with items. The consequence is less severe, only causing item disappearance.
Example:
Chest A contains 20 stacks of items. Chest B contains 10 stacks of items. A teleporter transfers items from A to B. Since Chest B only has 27 slots, any excess stacks beyond what fits vanish, leaving only a full chest with 27 stacks.
- Item Duplication via Import/Export Upgrade Interconnection between Large Machines (Heard from others, possibly in an earlier mod version for the same game version)
Description:
Placing ores into a Large Electric Furnace or Large Crusher, then interconnecting them with Import and Export Upgrades, causes raw materials to circulate internally and duplicate items.
Setup:
Two such large machines, each fitted with an upgrade for the opposite direction (Import on one, Export on the other, facing each other). Fill one side to start the process.
- Item Stack Loss Bug with IC2C interacting with SFM and Sophisticated Backpacks [SFM, Sophisticated Backpacks, IC2C]
Description:
Using SFM (Super Factory Manager) logistics to transfer items from a Sophisticated Backpack where the stack size is greater than one stack (but not the full 64) into any empty IC2C machine (which does not already contain that item) causes entire stacks of that item in the backpack to disappear until the remaining quantity is less than one stack.
Workarounds (Independent):
This bug cannot be resolved simply by optimizing SFM code.
Do not use Stack Upgrades in the backpack.
Transfer items from the backpack to an intermediate container before sending them to the IC2C machine.
Pre-fill the target IC2C machine with at least one of the target item using another logistics method before inputting more from the backpack.
Finally, thank you very much to the IC2 team for your dedication over the past More than ten years. As a player who loved this mod back in the day, I'm thrilled to see its high-version remake.
Wishing you happiness and good health.
