A few days ago I posted a version of this as a bug report because I thought it was specific to BookPlayer. Now I'm seeing related issues with Dropbox, so it might be an iOS issue. Has anyone else seen this?
When I import files that contain multiple combined files, only the first one might show up and be playable.
My first experience with this issue was a few days ago when I tried to import a zip file containing 31 files (and totaling around 600 Mb). It appeared to import correctly, but when I went to play it, only the first file was available. I divided the book into three zip files and imported those and they behaved properly.
When I finished that, I wanted to start listening to a new book that I received as six folders, each containing around 30 small files. I used the free Windows app MergeMP3 to combine each folder's content into one file, then zipped all six files into one zip file. When I imported it into BookPlayer, only the very first short file of each of the six sections was playable. I then tried importing one of the six larger files (unzipped) into BookPlayer and it showed the same behavior. To this point, I haven't found a workaround. I have never had problems with MergeMP3, so I don't believe that's the issue.
Now, I'm having a similar problem with the (very limited) audio player on Dropbox, where it only shows the time of the first subfile of the audio file. In that case, weirdly, it keeps playing after it's reached the end of the allotted time, leading to the situation where (say) it's 5:45 into a 0:06 file.
In case it matters, I normally use Dropbox to get the files from my Windows computer to BookPlayer. However, I just tried using iTunes to import an audiobook zip file, and had the same problem -- what should have been an eight-hour audiobook showed up as only having 13 minutes.
I recently switched from a 2nd-gen iPhone SE to a 3rd-gen one, but I have no idea if there's any connection.
I hope there's a fix, because this is so, so annoying. At the moment I'm listening to an audiobook with VLC, but I originally switched from VLC to BookPlayer because VLC kept losing my place.
Thanks for any help!
