I am also interested in this topic, as I understand the protocol handles customer checkouts now but could an e-commerce owner also securely access inventory data / order history / reviews / etc. through UCP? Thank you, |

Hi @juliendogny and @krem06 , These are spot-on questions. I’m actually working on a detailed response to address these points, plus a few other areas I’d like to contribute to this discussion. Give me 2-3 days to get everything together and I’ll share it all here. Looking forward to diving deeper into this with you. Husein |

@juliendogny by having a trusted identity sign code/parms remotely (e.g. MFA via SMS) to update both via secure JSON-RPC invocation CoSAI et al. (of whom Google are members; happy to FWD invite) are working to standardize the landscape too |

This isn’t really defined in UCP yet. In practice (from implementation side), inventory is treated as a product-level field and validated at checkout against the store’s source of truth. That works for single-location, but not for POS-synced or multi-location stock. What we end up doing: For agents, that means no reliable way to reason about where inventory exists. Feels like this needs either: |

Hi everyone,
First of all, thanks for this initiative! The Universal Commerce Protocol is a very promising project and definitely moves in the right direction for interoperability in commerce.
We are closely following the development of the protocol. However, we would appreciate more detailed information or documentation regarding local store inventory management. Specifically, how does the protocol intend to handle real-time stock levels for physical locations and the synchronization between local POS and the global protocol?
Looking forward to seeing how this evolves!
Best regards,
Julien
