How to debug?

I am trying to use this extension for the first time on a very large private project. For some reason it doesn't seem to be working. Can you share any tips as to how I can debug this?

also hitting this - I turned it on and it doesn't seem to be working. Wondering how to tell if its configured properly or some sort of output?
