Produce a printable school directory

As I write this, I'm not sure of the best approach. One is to simply produce the document directly from the database. This will require a fair amount of back-and-forth to get right, but it'll be easy to use once it is done.

The alternative is to produce a spreadsheet that is used to generate a directory through some template based mechanism, one example of such a mechanism being this. This alternative involves more work on the PTA side, but also gives them more flexibility to customize their directory.

I've asked some people producing directories if they are using a mechanism such as this, but have yet to receive a straightforward "yes" or "no". I'm guessing that that means "no".
