Crash/stall? "Downloading llama3.2:3b This may take a few minutes"

Notechat has been trying to download llama for days even though I already have Ollama already running on my MacBook Pro.

I can provide the full console entry, but here is the initial summary:

Hi @mshaler,

there are a few reasons why this could be happening.

Are you using Notechat via this repository or did you download the app through the link on the website?

Did you already install the llama3.2:3b model? I don't know what you have tried already but you could do the following:
Open your Terminal and run ollama list to verify if Ollama is running with the correct model
-> Check if llama3.2:3b is in the list and if not run ollama pull llama3.2:3b to pull it.

You could also try to just stop any running ollama processes and start ollama again.

pkill ollama

# Start Ollama again
ollama serve

You've hit on an important issue @mshaler - Notechat should indeed download the required models automatically, but there are a few reasons why this might be failing.

As of now, Notechat specifically looks for the llama3.2:3b model when using the Local Mode in the app, but you have llama3:latest installed. These are different models. You could try pulling the models that are needed for using Notechat manually in your terminal by running

ollama pull llama3.2:3b
ollama pull nomic-embed-text

Once downloaded, you can try restarting Notechat and try again.

How long did you wait for the installation of the model to finish? - It can take up to 30 minutes.
