Originally believed the SNBT parser was faulty, but realized the format I was inputting was a different format than SNBT. Issue #75 is still in need of review, however this will become the active focus, and the parser implemented here may be able to carry over some improvements for parsing ill-formed input as well as cleaning up the code for both parsers.
