Carousel auto-switching timer doesn't reset when manually switching

The carousel automatically switches to the next item every few seconds, however if you manually switch to another item the timer doesn't reset, so often when you manually switch to another item the carousel auto-switches to the next one, effectively skipping the item you switched to.
