4.0.3 version Extensions tab strange versions. How does this work, exactly?

Hi.

Sorry for the possibly unnecessary question, but I noticed something strange. I'm using version 4.0.3, and on the Extensions tab, when I click to check for updates, it shows versions as "current" that haven't even been released yet. I checked the GitHub repositories of the affected kexts, and those versions don't exist yet — for example: VirtualSMC, Lilu. Where do these version numbers come from?
