I understand that two different applications should not access the same pin at the same time. So, if one application makes a line_request, it makes sense that no other application can access that same pin until it is released.
However, why does the same restriction apply to the chip? When my application opens the chip, even if it's for a different pin on the same chip, gpioset in the terminal gives a "chip in use" error until I release it.
In my opinion, this is a problem. What do you think?
