Original bash implementation of the define dictionary tool.

󰏗 Installation / Установка

# Copy to your bin directory
cp define ~/.local/bin/
cp определить словарь слово ~/.local/bin/
chmod +x ~/.local/bin/{define,определить,словарь,слово}

# Add to PATH if needed
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"

Dependencies / Зависимости

# Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)
sudo apt install curl jq

# Linux (Arch)
sudo pacman -S curl jq

# macOS (IMPORTANT: requires Bash 4.0+)
# macOS ships with Bash 3.2 which doesn't support associative arrays
brew install bash curl jq

# After installing, either:
# 1. Run with: /opt/homebrew/bin/bash define  (Apple Silicon)
#    or: /usr/local/bin/bash define  (Intel Mac)
# 2. Or use the Python version instead (recommended for macOS)

# Optional for audio / Для аудио (опционально):
# Linux: mpv, vlc, or ffplay
# macOS: uses built-in afplay

⚠️ macOS Users: The Python version is strongly recommended as it requires no external dependencies and works with the system Python.
