Bug: Wallboard shows more hexagons than real applications

The wallboard UI somehow shows now some empty hexagons which was not the case with version 3.5.x:

I may be wrong, but given the number of hexagons present and the number of application instances available, if I did the math correctly, it seems to me that it renders one hexagon for each instance instead of for each application group. The applications available are indeed:

That is intentional. In your case, it happens to match the number of instances. The wallboard only displays applications—ten in your case.

The only thing I notice is that “MPE MONITORING AGENT” is not displayed as green, orange, or red. Is that due to the use of the custom status (#3110)?

In your case, it happens to match the number of instances.

It was not the case in version 3.5.x. An application with 3 instances would result in only one hexagon and not 1 correct hexagon plus 2 gray one with no data.

The wallboard only displays applications—ten in your case.

Please have a better look screenshot of the wallboard, which is the first one attached and not the second one, which is the homepage.
If it should be displaying the applications, like it was the case with 3.5.x, I should have 10 hexagons shown and not 14. In version 3.5.x there won't be 4 empty hexagons like now.
Moreover, those 4 empty one are somehow hover able which makes them not just placeholders then from a consumer point of view.

For comparison, here there is how the things look on QA where I still have version 3.5.7:

13 applications, 13 hexagons. Not 18.

To me, as a consumer of the project, this looks like a regression compared with version 3.5.x.
I would suggest you to reconsider this rather than labelling it with "wontfix". :)

Just imagine what would happen if every application would have more than one instance registered (which in real production environments you want to have to ensure business continuity in case of disruptions)... the wallboard would be full of empty hexagons making it not so useful.

The empty hexagons are not representing instances or application, they are just fillers. Since they are more confusing than providing any useful information, I removed them.
