Good idea, could use formalization #1

Hi, I'm right at the point of deciding if I should start doing analyses of adversarial strategies of Monero (and privacy coins in general) against ASIC-based centralization. I'm writing up a paper on it now, but don't know if it's worth the week of effort to complete, since this is something of a non-starter when it comes to academic interest.

Your attempt is a food idea. But because it's focusing on CPUs and ASICs only, it both ignores FPGAs (my day job) and many of the GPU based problems best addressed here: https://blog.sia.tech/choosing-asics-for-sia-b318505b5b51

My plan is to do some work similar to your CPU vs. ASIC analyses here, but also to respond to the threats of GPUs and FPGAs as well. (To be honest, I think I have a plan that could be both stable and still counter many of the problems with all forms of centralization, but it will take a good amount of time to elaborate it.)

I'm wondering if you're interested in, if not combining work, at least talking in more detail about our plans. (I'm kinda singular here in my abilities in math and EE, yet have a desire to find a decent community to work with. The firmware guy in the land of the coders...)
