Is scikit-image at EXACTLY 17.2 needed?

I have problems because guix does only provide the newest scikit-image. Is there a reason you can only use 17.2?

Hey! I had compatibility problems with PIL and also Google Colab, but you can definitely try it with the newer version in your environment
