sometimes I wrote the extension to use DaemonMode with a few modifications.

Thank you for your interest, which are the main differences against DaemonMode? It could be nice to have it in the README.

I guess could be useful, because the source code suffers of multiple changes, and I had not updated recently because it was still working.

By the way, you should always put a LICENSE in a Github repositorio. In several regulations, like USA, that means it is domain public, but in other ones, like in EU (where I usually live), it means people in general cannot use it, because the usage permission must be explicit.

At first I thought it would be nice if serve() was accessible from the REPL, while it's running.
and the protocol tokens are a bit different, as you know it's so hard to keep compatible with the design changes.

Please feel free to take my code and functions and to update DaemonMode.jl as you want.
